Oil Painting of the Carmo Convent, Lisboa Portugal

In 1755 the earthquake of Lisbon destroyed much of the older city, including the Carmo Convent. It is also the time when my family left Portugal for the Azores. In 2017 we rented a flat which overlooked the convent. This is from a view out of our kitchen window. The nocturn painting is from a photo reference that I took. At night the convent was lit up and is a fairly popular place to visit in the late hours. The painting is on a cradled wood panel which is 1″ thick. Painted in oils it is finished with a varnish and signed. It is unframed.
